Thank you NHS
The message flying high and proud over Reading School's 'NHS Village' in support of the Royal Berkshire Hospital and all NHS workers #RSCares
The iconic blue and white flag was raised today at Reading School to symbolise the community spirit shown by the Redingensians community in support of the NHS during the Covid-19 crisis.
Reading School’s Headmaster, Mr A M Robson said:
“I hope that this gesture shows Reading School's appreciation for all the wonderful NHS staff, volunteers and everyone in key worker roles who are going above and beyond during this Coronavirus pandemic. This flag will continue to fly until we are through this pandemic and certainly whilst the ‘NHS Village’ is located on the school site, providing 44 accommodation units for NHS staff. Despite these difficult times, the selfless acts the Reading School family has already demonstrated makes me extremely proud to be part of this community.”
The flag was raised today in a show of solidarity and appreciation for our NHS staff who will be the hardest hit and for our emergency services and key workers across Berkshire. The Reading School Field is already used as a landing pad for the Emergency Air Ambulance and has done so for many years, being in close proximity to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
It is important that we continue to work together to get through this and we all play a vital role to strictly observe government guidance on social distancing and isolation as this will help to protect the NHS and help us save more lives.
